Regarding the COVID-19 Crisis

We Are Here For You

What a stressful and confusing time this is.  We are all being affected by the concerns about the COVID-19 novel coronavirus.  We have not been hit as hard as some (such as those in Washington state) but travel plans are being cancelled and offers to work remotely are being offered.  We, at Rex’s Place, cannot work remotely and are starting to feel the impact.

Since we opened our doors, safety and cleanliness have always been a top priority for Rex’s Place.  Our professional staff works hard to ensure we provide a fun and healthy environment for every visitor—whether they have four legs or two. Our playrooms and boarding suites are cleaned throughout the day using veterinary-grade cleaning products. Outside of the playrooms, our staff regularly clean and sanitize the offices, restrooms, staff common areas, and the check-in counter area. We have a professional crew at night to go over it again.  We have enhanced that cleaning and are sterilizing balls, leashes, countertops, water bowls several times throughout the day.

We are a small local business that depends on our regular clients. Our commitment to our staff means we strive to provide competitive compensation and a place where staff can grow and learn.  While many businesses are undoubtedly affected by the current uncertainty, our services are often uniquely impacted when travel plans are disrupted.

We have received several cancellations for spring break boarding. It is one of our busiest times and this will have a big impact on us.  However, while our deposits are typically non-refundable, we will be putting the deposits for cancelled trips onto the account in Gingr for future daycare or boarding.

We want to encourage you to try and maintain your pet’s normal routine as much as possible.  Regular socialization and exercise are extremely important for dogs and dramatic changes to their day-to-day routine can have an unexpected impact.

Though there have not yet been official reports of pets becoming sick with COVID-19, nor reports of pets spreading the disease to humans, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends limiting contact with your pets should you or a member of your household become infected with coronavirus. If you find yourself in this situation, we are here to support you.

Whether it’s giving your pup the exercise and socialization they need, helping you create a quiet and productive work environment at home, or taking care of your furry family member while you’re sick, our daycare and dog boarding services are here for you and your dog.

Our intention is to stay open and we will let you know if that changes going forward.  Stay well — and thank you for your continued support of our business.

On behalf of all of us here at Rex’s Place,

Kathy
