Why are Rex's Place more expensive than other kennels?

Our boarding is a little more expensive because we are NOT a kennel. Not everyone does cage free boarding and there is a reason for that. It's not easy and requires some unique logistics and procedures focused on keeping everyone safe. It also requires very clear and firm policies such as dogs must have a full day of daycare before their overnight. Our professionally trained staff is with the dogs all day AND all night.

Why is my dog required to come to daycare the day before they stay overnight?

That is one of the clear and firm policies required for successful overnight boarding. Dogs need to sleep at night, not play with their buddies. It is important that they get all the energy out and are tired from playing so they will sleep at night. To be honest, not every daycare dogs is good for our boarding but it is a requirement.

What is required for my dog to stay overnight?

Dogs are required to participate in daycare play for six months before being approved for overnight stays.

Regular playgroup attendance a minimum of two times per month is required to retain cage free boarding privileges dogs need to socialize with other dogs on a consistent basis to keep skills sharp as they mature.

As they are a daycare-dog, all shots should be up to date and we will need to have a consent/intake form and deposit before their stay can be confirmed.

Owners must bring their pet's food in pre-measured and pre-marked baggies by meal to maintain their dog's normal diet.

Should I bring toys or a blanket?

Not necessary. There are some toys in the house and lot's of coaches, chairs and pet cots for our dogs to sleep on.

My dog has nightly medicine. Can the staff administer that? What is the charge?

You will be asked on the intake/consent form about the medication your dog will need during his stay with us. All staff can administer the medication and there is no extra charge. That is included in the care we provide all of our guests.

What are check-in and check-out times?

All dogs are required to check in to daycare before 11:00 am on the day they are boarding. Dogs must be dropped off on Monday through Friday. We will not accept dogs for overnights to start on the weekend.

Check out time is 12:00 (noon). Dog's not checked out at that time will be charged for a day of daycare. All dogs must be picked up by 6:00 pm.
